Gum grafting
Receding gums expose the root of the tooth, which can be sensitive and more prone to decay. A gum graft covers the root and rebuilds the gum line.
Why gums recede
Gum disease, brushing too hard, grinding, and simply the way your teeth sit can all cause recession. Finding the cause is part of the treatment.
What a graft does
A small piece of tissue is placed over the exposed root. It protects the root, reduces sensitivity and evens out the gum line.
